UTAH STATE ROLLER CLUB OFFICER’S DUTIES
This upcoming year is an even numbered year, and so we will be electing club officers to serve for the next two years. Positions are for two years. Officers can be reelected for one additional (second term). The idea is to give more club members an opportunity to serve. Since this is an election year, I thought it might be appropriate to print the following information about the different offices in the club and their associated duties and responsibilities:

1. PRESIDENT:
A. Shall be responsible for the smooth operation of the club.
B.    Shall oversee the club officers, and help out wherever possible.
C. Shall preside over the annual business meeting.
D. Shall try to visit all divisions of the club to see how they are functioning.
E. Shall write a State of the Club article for the newsletter to be published in the first edition.

2. SECRETARY/TREASURER:
A. Shall keep records of club members. (names, addresses, phone numbers, & email addresses)
B. Shall keep accurate records of club dues and finances.
C. Shall present an accounting of all club income and expenses at the annual business meeting.
D. Shall prepare an accounting of club finances to be published in the first newsletter.

3. NEWSLETTER / WEBSITE  EDITOR:
A. Shall prepare and mail out club newsletters as they are needed.
B. Newsletters should be mailed out at least 4 times per year.
C. The first newsletter should be mailed out right after the Annual Business Meeting. It should include the following:
1. State of the Club article by the President.
2. Fly results for the previous year by the club Fly Director.
3. The previous year’s financial report by the club Treasurer.
4. A calendar of coming events.
5. A list of all current club officers, including phone numbers.
6. Articles of general interest submitted by club members.
7. A list of members who ordered club bands and what series each member received.
D. The second newsletter should go out at least two weeks before the World Cup Regional Fly, and should include:
1. Dates of the World Cup Regional.
2. Schedule of the participants.
3. An article introducing the Judge. These items should be supplied by the World Cup Fly Director.
4. Other information and articles as needed or provided.
E. The third newsletter should go out at least two weeks before the NBRC National Fly and should include:
1. Dates of the regional NBRC National Championship Fly.
2. Schedule of the participants.
3. An article introducing the Judge. These items should be supplied by the NBRC Regional Director.
4. Other information and articles as needed or provided.
5. Results of the club spring flies, the Regional World Cup Fly, and the State Championship Fly.
F. The fourth newsletter should go out at the end of the year to announce the annual business meeting, and should include:
1. Date, time and place of the Annual Business Meeting.
2. An agenda of club business to be discussed, prepared by the club president.
3. Other information and articles as needed or provided.
4. Results of the club fall flies, and the Regional NBRC National Championship Fly. 

4. CLUB FLY DIRECTOR:
A. Shall oversee all club Division Fly Directors.
B. Shall coordinate division flies.
C. Shall prepare and submit club fly reports to the Newsletter Editor.
D. Shall collect money from Division Fly Directors and purchase awards for club fly winners.

5.  DIVISION FLY DIRECTORS:
    A. Shall meet with their division fliers and schedule division flies.
    B. Shall collect money from competitors at each fly event.
    C. Shall keep records of the results of each of their division flies.
    D. Shall prepare fly reports and submit them to the Club Fly Director.
    E. Shall notify and maintain contact with their individual division members.
    F. Shall act as the World Cup and NBRC NCF Regional LADs for their division.

6.    REGIONAL WORLD CUP FLY DIRECTOR:
A. Shall be responsible for scheduling the World Cup Regional fly event.
B. Shall contact and encourage all members of the club to enter the competition and collect entry fees.
C. Shall contact and invite a qualified judge to judge the fly.
D. Shall purchase tickets and arrange lodging and travel for the judge while he is judging the fly.
E. Shall organize and schedule the Regional World Cup Fly.

7.    NBRC 7A REGIONAL DIRECTOR:
    A. Shall be responsible for scheduling the Regional NBRC National Championship Fly event.
B. Shall contact and encourage all NBRC members to enter the competition and collect entry fees.
C. Shall contact and invite a qualified judge to judge the fly.
D. Shall purchase tickets and arrange lodging and travel for the judge while he is judging the fly.
E. Shall organize and schedule the Regional NBRC National Championship Fly.
F. The NBRC Regional Director is not a club officer, and does not need to be a member of the USRC, however he must be a member of the NBRC and he must reside in the Region 7A geographical area, which is comprised of Utah, and SW Wyoming. He represents the NBRC, and especially the National Championship Fly.

8.    BAND DIRECTOR:
    A. Shall order and purchase bands for the upcoming year.
    B. Shall collect money from club members that purchase bands.
    C. Shall keep accurate records of who receives which bands.
D. Shall provide the Newsletter Editor with a list of who has which band numbers for the first newsletter each year.
